React Job: Software developer, New Markets

Otovo is the European marketplace that connects consumers wanting to add batteries or solar panels to their homes with installer companies looking to fill their order book with projects. Otovo's mission is to put solar panels and batteries in every European home, and by using software and technology we are able to make solar energy easy, cheap and available everywhere.

Founded in 2016, Otovo has rapidly scaled its platform beyond the Nordics, and it is currently operating in 10 countries: Norway, Sweden, France, Spain, Poland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Portugal and the United Kingdom. In addition, Otovo's software platform runs Holu, a Brazilian marketplace partially owned by Otovo.

We have come a long way, but won't stop until there's local and clean energy in every home - and we need your help!

Your team - New Markets is dedicated to launching Otovo in new markets. This cross-functional team will collaborate on everything from regulatory hurdles to localization and scalable product adaptations. Together, we make sure that Otovo hits the ground running and wins in the new markets. You will work across the organization with people from an ever growing number of countries, backgrounds and cultures.
So exactly what will you be doing? You will be a part of a highly functional team that:

• Localize and adapt the platform to make it work in new markets Otovo is launching in

• Assist with onboarding new local teams, and getting them to a place where they can perform as efficiently as the markets we are already in

• Iterate on our go-to-market process so that the next market launch goes even smoother than the last one. You will break numerous Otovo-records during this work.

Per today the team is built up by one Product Manager and one engineer, and we would love to have you on our team if you check the must-haves (maybe also the Nice to haves?!), and identify with our thoughts on ideal personal traits.

Must-haves:

• 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• Experience with web development, ideally also some experience with our tech-stack; Python, Django, Javascript, React and Postgres.

Nice to haves:

• Experience or interest in solar energy & PV

• Self motivated and curious

• Have a desire in making an impact

• You have a product and data-informed mindset

• An ability to uphold a high technical bar while making pragmatic tradeoffs.

• Experience working with large project that involve stakeholder management

• Obsessed with addressing customer needs

• You are a fast learner, with excellent problem solving, communication and project management skills

• A team player that’s not afraid to make mistakes, ask for help or suggest solutions.
